
Annelien Verbauwhede
Annelien Verbauwhede is Doctor in Bioscience Engineering. She received her PhD at KU Leuven in 2019. At the Laboratory of Food Chemistry and Biochemistry, she investigated together with her promotor Professor Jan Delcour, the impact of the thermoactive serine peptidase aqualysin 1 on the molecular and microscale properties of the thermoset gluten network and the resulting macroscopic bread properties. The project was in collaboration with Puratos. Today, she is active as Innovation Engineer at the wheat milling company Dossche Mills. Her main focus is on health and sustainability.
