Evelin Loit
Evelin Loit is an associate professor at the Estonian University of Life Sciences. She defended her PhD thesis at the University of Ottawa, Canada, on characterization of diabetogenic gobulin gene in wheat. After that she moved to agronomy field and she has studied the impact of different nitrogen rates and sources, including conventional and organic cropping systems, on field crops yield and quality in long term crop rotation experiment. She also aims to link agronomic data with gene expression data in field conditions. Recently she has, together with her research group, focused on studying the impact of nitrogen on cereal fiber and how to improve cereal valorization.
