Amaury Beaugendre

Amaury Beaugendre is a 3rd year PhD candidate at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He conducts his research at the Agroecology Lab and in collaboration with the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre. The main goal of his research is to investigate plant interactions within organic heterogeneous material (OHM) and variety mixtures in order to refine evolutionary plant breeding strategies in organic bread wheat. His main research interests are (i) to identify (un)favorable trait associations within OHM or variety mixtures, and (ii) to evaluate the impact of sowing density on the balance between competitive and facilitative interactions within the crop. Besides, Amaury is involved in a participatory breeding project for the creation and follow-up of a Walloon Cross Composite Population.
